Trauma Therapy

I am formally trained in a modality known as EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.

How EMDR can help

EMDR is a structured protocol that is evidence based to support the resolution or reduction in trauma and PTSD related symptoms. It is different than other trauma therapies in that the client is not required to talk in extensive detail about the trauma or distressing experience.

EMDR instead utilizes a combination of cognitive processing, gentle exposure, and bilateral stimulation to reduce the fight, flight, freeze response that can occur when individuals experience aspects (memories, body sensations, images, thoughts, and feelings) related to the traumatic or adverse experience.

If you think EMDR can be a good fit for your goals- I’d love to chat more to help you decide!

You can learn more about EMDR here.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT is a talk therapy that utilizes mindfulness, psychological flexibility, acceptance, and values-orientation to support you in making intentional choices that improve overall quality of life.

I am currently paneled with and accept United Healthcare, Optum, Oxford, UMR, Oscar Health, and Aetna insurance plans.

Private Pay

Out-of-pocket sessions are $150 per session. I can accept HSA and FSA for payment. I can provide you a superbill to submit to your out-of-network insurance plan for potential reimbursement (if your plan offers out of network benefits).

Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.

“You don’t have to be positive. You don’t have to feel guilty about fear or sadness or anger. You don’t stop the rain by telling it to stop. Sometimes you just have to let it pour, let it soak into your skin. It never rains forever. And know that, however wet you get, you are not the rain. You are not the bad feelings in your head. You are the person experiencing the storm. The storm may knock you off your feet. But you will stand again. Hold on.”
