About Kenzie

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDR Trained Mental Health Therapist

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, both from Indiana University. My practice, while always evolving, draws upon the modalities and foundations of EMDR (formally trained), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Poly-Vagal Theory, Systems Theory, Empowerment Perspective, and the mind-body connection. I am trauma-informed, inclusive, and passionate about working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, and life transitions.

My Approach

Therapy is not a place we go if we aren’t seeking some form of growth or change. I believe the therapeutic process can be enlightening, challenging, at times uncomfortable, but ultimately transformative and healing. My hope for the relationship we co-create in this process as therapist and client is that you feel affirmed, cared for, safe, and valued. Through a holistic perspective that integrates the mind and body, I aim to empower my clients to identify and realign with their values in order to achieve their goals and express their most authentic selves.

I utilize a client-centered and strengths-based approach to foster trust while we work together. I am rooted in the belief that YOU are the expert on you. My role as your therapist is to assist you in accessing the version of yourself you know in your bones you can become.

My Background

I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of populations in my career including adults, young-adults, adolescents, first responders, active military duty, veterans, individuals who have experienced sexual assault, folks that struggle with depression, anxiety, relational conflicts, and substance use.

I have worked across the spectrum in levels of care from residential, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient. I have found my long-term home in outpatient therapeutic services and now transitioning into my own private practice as it allows the space and time to implement lasting change. I cherish the long-term relationships I get to foster with my clients so you have a strong anchor to lean in and out of as you experience life’s successes and challenges.

We’d work well together if..

You feel plagued by challenging or traumatic past experiences and are ready to explore the impact they may be having on your daily life.

Anxiety is overwhelming your thoughts and informing the choices you are making in your daily life.

You find yourself struggling with an inner critic, self-doubt, perfectionism, and/or imposter syndrome.

You are in or are about to be in a pivotal life transition and are bogged down by the emotional aspects of it all.

You just want a supportive space for self discovery in which you clarify and realign with your values.
